About us

The history of the Parenza Art Gallery is rooted in a family tradition spanning three generations, where a passion for art and antiques has been carefully preserved and passed down.

In the 1970s, Franco Parenza founded Il Bottegone dell’Antiquariato, soon becoming a reference point for collectors with its refined selection of Italian and French furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries.

In the 1990s, with Marco Parenza joining the gallery, the business took on the name Romana Antichità and focused particularly on 18th-century French furniture, strengthening ties with collectors and interior designers at an international level.

Today, under the guidance of Filippo Parenza, the gallery continues its evolution with a renewed identity: Parenza Art Gallery. The current mission is dedicated to Italian painting from the 16th to the 18th century, with a strong emphasis on provenance, museum-level quality, and thorough art historical research.

From a deep passion for classical antiques to a refined specialization in Old Master paintings, the Parenza Art Gallery stands out for its integrity, expertise, and a vision that bridges family tradition with an international perspective.

Our mission

At Parenza Art Gallery, our mission is to accompany every client—whether a private collector, an institution, a museum, or an art advisor—through the delicate process of selecting and acquiring the right work of art. We believe that choosing a painting is not only a matter of aesthetic appreciation, but also an act of cultural responsibility and, at times, a strategic investment.

Each work that enters our gallery has been carefully studied, documented, and evaluated. Particular attention is given to provenance, condition, and scholarly references, ensuring that the pieces we present are treated with the highest respect for their historical and artistic significance.

Our commitment goes beyond the act of acquisition: we seek to build lasting relationships based on trust and transparency, offering guidance that unites academic rigor with market expertise. By doing so, we aim to provide our clients with works that not only enrich their collections but may also prove to be valuable assets for the future.

At Parenza Art Gallery, we strive to create a dialogue between past and present—honoring the legacy of Italian and European painting from the 16th to the 18th century—while offering our clients the confidence that each acquisition has been approached with integrity, knowledge, and vision.
